Best Budget Gaming Headsets for PC

If you are a gamer and looking for the best budget gaming headsets for PC, then this article is for you. I have tested a few of them and have created this list which includes all types of budget gaming headsets which can help you pick the one that matches your requirement.

 HyperX Cloud Alpha

The Cloud Alpha is an excellent headset that offers something for everyone. It should be at the top of your shopping list if you’re looking to get a great PC gaming headset at a reasonable price.

HyperX Cloud Alpha Audio Quality

The first thing anyone will notice about the Cloud Alpha is its fantastic sound quality. The 50mm drivers offer a nice balance between bass and treble, making it suitable for any genre. Equalization options are available through the HyperX NGenuity software, so you can tweak the sound profile to your liking if necessary.

While some headsets tend to emphasize either bass or treble in order to make their audio more exciting, the Cloud Alpha is remarkably balanced. The highs and lows are strong enough to make explosions feel satisfying, while not being so strong that they become ear-piercing or distracting during game play.

HyperX Cloud Alpha Microphone Quality

The microphone on the Cloud Alpha performs admirably compared to other headsets in its price range. While it doesn’t have active noise cancellation like higher-end headsets do, it does a good job of eliminating background noise. However, since it doesn’t have a pop filter built into the mic itself, you might find yourself irritating friends with frequent popping sounds

SteelSeries Arctis 7

The SteelSeries Arctis 7 is one of the best gaming headsets available in 2019. While it's not cheap at $150 (£129, AU$289), its high-quality sound and mic performance are worth it.

The SteelSeries Arctis 7 is a comfortable, well-designed wireless headset that sounds good and works flawlessly with a PC or PS4. It also has a decent battery life at around 24 hours, which should be enough to last you through any gaming marathon.

The downside is that the Arctis 7 doesn't work well with Xbox One consoles, but if you're primarily a PC gamer, the SteelSeries Arctis 7 is absolutely worth your attention. If you have an Xbox One, the Astro A50 or Turtle Beach 800X are better alternatives.

Turtle Beach Recon 70

Turtle Beach is a reliable name in gaming audio, and its Recon 70 headset is a solid choice for gamers on a budget. Designed specifically with console users in mind, the Recon 70 performs just as well with PC gamers. It can be used with Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The headset comes in black or white and blue, and it's equipped with 40mm over-ear speakers that deliver clear sound. The volume rocker is located on the left earcup and works as expected. There are also two LEDs — one to indicate power, the other to let you know when you're muted — both of which are easy to see.

The Recon 70 has a comfortable design that helps it stay securely on your head, even during long gaming sessions. The headband does not extend beyond the earcups like some headsets do and instead rests on top of your head. However, it still sits comfortably on your head and feels sturdy enough to last for a few years of use. The earcups are lined with memory foam for extra comfort for long hours of gaming.

To keep the price down, Turtle Beach opted to use a 3.5mm connection instead of USB. Although this makes setup simple because

 Logitech G433

The Logitech G433 is a well-rounded package that's capable of providing a great audio experience whether you're gaming or listening to music.

The headset also comes with a couple of unidirectional mics, one for in-game voice chat and the other for Skype and other VoIP apps. Both microphones are detachable. The one used for in-game chat has a noise-cancelling feature that can be switched on by flipping a switch on the mic body.

The G433 doesn't look good when worn outside, but its removable microphone will ensure that it's suitable for most situations.

Razer Kraken 2019

The Razer Kraken exists in a strange space: it's what you might call a "first-level" gaming headset. It's good enough for most people and for the price, but there's undoubtedly better to be had if you're willing to pay more.

There's nothing wrong with the Kraken 2019 — it has clear, well-balanced sound; it's comfortable enough on your head; and its microphone is up to snuff — but at this point, it's also due for a refresh. That said, if you're just looking for something cheap to get you by, it'll do the job just fine.

HyperX Cloud Orbit S

We love the HyperX Cloud Orbit S. It was our favorite gaming headset of 2019, and that hasn't changed heading into 2020. The Orbit S is the best way to experience 3D audio on a PC right now. It uses Waves Nx technology along with head tracking to create a truly surround sound experience unlike any other headset we've ever tested.

The cans themselves are also an excellent pair of headphones, with 50mm drivers that offer crystal clear highs and booming bass capable of delivering rich soundscapes that make games more immersive than other headsets are capable of. The only downsides are

 Corsair HS50

The Corsair HS50 is a simple but comfortable headset that delivers good sound quality for the price. Though it doesn’t have the same audio quality as more expensive options, it’s still a solid choice. Its unassuming design also makes it perfect for use outside of gaming.

The HS50 has memory foam ear pads, which provide decent comfort during long gaming sessions. It has an adjustable headband and its lightweight construction make it easy to wear for long periods of time. The headset has the standard volume wheel on right ear cup and mic mute switch on the left cup, which are easy to access while gaming.

Its 40mm drivers deliver decent sound quality, though they aren’t as loud as those of some other headsets on this list. It also uses a USB receiver dongle instead of Bluetooth, so you’ll need to use it close to your PC or console when playing multiplayer games. Corsair offers a two-year warranty from the date of purchase in case you encounter any issues with your headset.

The HS50 comes with a 3.5mm cable for devices that don’t have USB ports, like smartphones and tablets, as well as a splitter cable that allows you to connect the headset to older PCs with separate headphone

Takeaway: Here are the best budget gaming headsets for PC.

In the end, you need to determine what's most important to you in a gaming headset. Paying up for a high-end model will give you unparalleled sound quality and lots of bang-for-the-buck, but if you're working with an especially small budget, you should know that you can always find deals online that can get you into a good gaming headset without having to spend hundreds of dollars. The best part? Whether it's $30 or $300, it's all about the game with these great gaming headsets for PC.
